Located on the campus of Duke University, the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning luxury hotel like no other in the region. Built in the style of an old English country inn, the hotel is nestled on a 300-acre site and situated in the heartland of North Carolina. The Inn features the Duke University Golf Course, elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites, the award-winning Fairview Dining Room, the Bull Durham Bar and superb meeting facilities for groups from 20 to 600.

Only 20 minutes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport and 15 minutes from Research Triangle Park, we offer our guests a quiet and elegant retreat from life’s busy roads and hectic paces. The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club features 271 guest rooms and suites, including the elegant Presidential Suite and Homestead Suite, and a selection of equally luxurious deluxe, master and junior suites and four family suites. Each room or suite overlooks the magnificent championship Duke University Golf Course or offers other views of our impeccably landscaped grounds. Our comfortable, yet elegant decor is inspired by that found in traditional English country inns, providing a welcoming ambiance further enhanced by the finest amenities available. This harmonious blend of abiding comfort and modern conveniences ensures a pleasant and carefree stay.

When traveling with children, it’s important to have your hotel welcome you with open arms. Our luxurious family-friendly suites offer a bit more space (350 square feet) than our standard guest rooms, feature a king bed for the adults and bunk beds for the kids. Cribs are available for our youngest guests. Sitting services are available as well.

Whether your interest is golf, jogging, walking, swimming or merely relaxing, the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is perfectly suited for you. The beautiful 18-hole championship Duke University Golf Course opened in 1957 and is the only Robert Trent Jones-designed course in the region. Redesigned by Jones’ son, Rees, in 1994 the Course is considered one of the top ten golf courses in North Carolina. Site of the 2001 NCAA Men's Golf Championship, the Course consistently receives top rankings from Golf Digest, GolfWeek, Golf Magazine and the Zagat Survey. Six PGA Professionals and one Master PGA Professional are on staff and available for group or private lessons.

Stay on top of your workout routine in our Fitness Center. Enjoy a dip in our indoor pool and leave plenty of time to relax on our interior or exterior deck. And if you’d like tennis, basketball and summertime outdoor swimming, we offer access to the adjacent Duke Faculty Club. Guests may also take advantage of the nearby Duke Center for Living for a daily fee.

Afternoon Tea

In remembrance of more genteel times, the Washington Duke Inn serves Afternoon Tea in the Fairview Dining Room, Tuesday through Sunday from 2:30pm-4:30pm on the half hour. Relish the intimacy and unhurried pace of this time-honored tradition, sure to be a restorative and memorable experience for you and your guests.

The Classic Tea: Offering a wide selection of teas from Taylor's of Harrogate, established 1886. Served with a variety of tea sandwiches, fresh homemade scones and a variety of sweets hand crafted for you.

Bull Durham Bar

The relaxed, intimate atmosphere at the Bull Durham Bar provides the perfect place to enjoy hearty fare and gourmet delights after a round of golf or harried business day. A full lunch menu is offered in addition to a light menu throughout the day. Enjoy the golf course view from your table by the fireplace or from the bar. The Bull Durham Bar is the place to be for good food, good conversation and good times among friends.

Our executive culinary team, led by Jason Cunningham, is widely regarded for its unique fresh approach to seasonally inspired dishes. The Fairview has received the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond award for 14 years in a row, and has garnered the Wine Spectator Award for Excellence for seven consecutive years.

Vista Restaurant

Our Vista Restaurant serves breakfast to conference attendees and others looking for a convenient yet fabulous meal. Set up kiosk style, the Vista offers cuisine prepared by the same highly regarded culinary staff that prepares the fare in our AAA Four Diamond Award-winning Fairview Dining Room.

The Executive Conference Center offers an array of flexible meeting space and can accommodate groups of up to 600 guests. The Conference Center features 20 elegant meeting rooms and innovative technologies, including wireless Internet access throughout the entire hotel. The crown jewel of our Executive Conference Center is the spectacular Presidents Ballroom, which contains 7,600 square feet of luxurious event space.
